MAPPED. For Municipalities.
GEOGRAPHIC DATA BASE OF FORECLOSURE INFORMATION
MAPPED is a technology-based platform that operates as a service to offer Municipalities a TOOL for data gathering and property inventory. Integrating your data into a GIS platform can coordinate the efforts of all departments tasked with recording or analyzing housing information on foreclosures.
Current Data Analysis
Analyzing property data in the context of larger geographic areas facilitates valuable insights for planning, program development and targeting resources. Information can be aggregated into larger geographic areas (e.g., blocks, census tracts, neighborhoods) to help identify patterns and trends and determine how and where to target resources. A municipality may want to determine the number of foreclosure initiations on a particular block or within a particular census tract. Area-level information, such as demographic data, crime statistics and real estate market trends can also be very useful in identifying problem neighborhoods and informing neighborhood planning and program development. To identify problem neighborhoods or determine how and where to target what resources, we can include area-level information, such as population and demographic data, crime statistics, vacancy rates and real estate market trends.
Early Warning Data Collection
To maximize the benefits of an early warning database, municipalities should ensure that data can be easily accessed by all of the users for whom it was designed. An early warning management plan can be put into effect. The early warning data base will allow various municipal departments to enter information; e.g., code violations, water shut-offs and include the tracking of municipal liens.
